Product Details

Yakima DoubleDown 5

The DoubleDown 5 securely transports five bikes in Yakima's easily-adjusted, anti-swing cradles with sturdy straps. In addition to carrying standard frames, the cradles are specially shaped to be compatible with non-standard and full suspension frames. When you're not carrying bikes, the arms drop down with a large, easy-to-grab trigger, and the tilt-down mast allows easy trunk access.

      Comments:

Have Double Down 4 with rubber straps that have holes to lock. Very difficult to lick them down and un-do. Takes lots of time to load/unload. It is strong. Sturdy. Fit two cruisers, one 24" MTB, one kid bike (upside down). I would buy another Yakima if they updated the straps.

Rack not as usefull as I paid for

      Comments:

This rack will not hold five bikes unless the are kids, maybe. I could barely hold 2adult, 1medium size, and 1child. Also, bolt comes lose after driving with bikes on.

      Comments:

Carry four bikes, soon to be 5 when my youngest child's bike is big enough to fit. Easy to load/unload bikes. Very quick install. Recommend the 2" hitch, but works on the 1 1/4" hitch. Small childrens bikes do not fit in the intended way. I "rigged" it with bungee cords to attach it but most bikes sized for kids under 8 yrs old won't fit on it. Otherwise, this is a great product. Well made, easy to use. Would recommend to anyone needing to carry 5 bikes.

This rack is perfect! Eddy's even installed it on my hitch for me and loaded my bike to show me how to use it. It's sturdy, easy to use, and allows me to open the back of my SUV without a problem. Highly recommended!!
