Cycling Advocacy

JAX Bicycle Center proudly supports the following cycling-advocacy organizations:

OC BikeOrange County Bicycle Coalition: The efforts of the Orange County Bicycle Coalition (O.C.B.C) are committed to making our county a better place for all cyclists: school kids, moms, commuters, casual and avid recreational riders of all ages. Why you ride doesn't matter. What you ride doesn't matter. All that matters is that you be free to choose a bike when it fits the trip before you—and that the streets be a safe and pleasant place to ride. You can learn a lot more and join the O.C.B.C. here.

The California Bicycle Coalition (CBC), is a non-profit education and lobbying organization working to improve bicycling conditions throughout California. The CBC advocates for increased bicycle use, access, safety and education by promoting the bicycle as an everyday means of transportation and recreation. The CBC is a diverse membership-based organization comprised of recreational and commuter cyclists, bicycle-related manufacturers, bike shops, law enforcement, environmentalists, transit advocates, and transportation and air-quality planners. Bikes Belong is the preeminent orchestrator of national funding for all cycling programs. It's the industry's voice in Washington, DC, and it administers a successful grants program to build bike facilities and leverage federal transportation funding. Warrior's Society: This award-winning group is headed by Chris Vargas. His dedication to the group is endless and its accomplishments are monumental.

"Think not forever of yourselves, O Chiefs, nor of your own Generation. Think of continuing generations of our families. Think of our grandchildren and of those not yet unborn, whose faces are coming from beneath the ground."
-The Peacemaker, American Indian prophet, Iroquois Confederacy founder, circa 1000 AD

The Warrior's Society is made up of wilderness cyclists, trail runners and hikers dedicated to improving and protecting the trails of the Trabuco District of the Cleveland National Forest in Orange County, California. They also share our love of the land and the endurance to ride or hike it. The club is based on the American Indian traditions of the Warrior's Society. Members are nominated and voted in by existing members.

SHARE Mountain Bike Club of Orange County promotes responsible mountain biking whether it be technical singletrack or gradual fireroads. They welcome riders from expert to beginner, provide discounts at bike shops and encourage participating in trail maintenance in our local and state parks. Learn more at http://www.sharemtb.com/.

Trails 4 All is a group dedicated to coordinating volunteer trail projects and fund-raising for trail stewardship at www.trails4all.org/.
